From A Socialite's Life: "Little Hilary Duff is growing up fast, and seems to be taking the very public relationship of her ex-boyfriend, Joel Madden, and Nicole Richie in stride. However, she does admit that she was confused by his behavior after their break-up.

"All of the going out he did after we broke up sort of shocked me," Duff told Seventeen magazine. "Like, that's just so out of character for him, and when we were together, he hated stuff like that, so I felt like I didn't really know him as well as I thought I did."

Star magazine is reporting that Nicole Richie's baby is in danger: "She's just 25 years old, but Nicole Richie has done more than her share of hard living. And now, say medical experts, she may have to pay the price.

Nicole has been using heroin and pills. She's abused alcohol and cocaine and battled devastating anorexia. She has also been arrested for DUI and drugs and has done three stints in rehab, while becoming famous as Paris Hilton's wild party pal.

But the 12-weeks-pregnant "The Simple Life" star is facing her biggest challenge yet — motherhood.

Although she's frightened and desperate to stay clean, sources say sobriety remains a daily struggle, and experts agree that beating her demons will likely be a long and arduous process.

HIGH RISK
Doctors say Nicole's pregnancy is unusually high-risk. If she did have drugs in her system when she got pregnant, she could be at risk for a miscarriage or birth defects.

Nicole's weight is another serious ongoing problem. Mary Jane Minkin, M.D., a clinical professor at Yale University (who has not treated Nicole), is surprised that the scary-skinny star could conceive at all. "That baby is at extraordinary risk," says Dr. Minkin. "Nicole needs to gain at least 40 pounds to nourish the baby properly."

Nicole was recently interviewed by Nylon Magazine and confessed that she doesn’t want to be looked at as a role model. She is surprised that young girls look up to her and finds it dangerous.

“I don’t walk around pretending that I’m perfect, so I don’t think anyone should hold me to that. The dangerous thing is that there are 16, 17, 18-year-olds that people consider to be role models. I’m so happy I wasn’t famous back then. You’d think I was the fucking devil.”

She also is so angry that the press keeps on tagging her as an anorexic.

“It’s really sad how obsessed America is with weight. It’s sick. I’ve never gone a day without putting food in my mouth. I’ve never sewn my mouth shut. I’ve never gone on a liquid diet. So I want to know why I’m the face for a problem.”

Nicole even opened up about her time as a heroin addict. She insists she never reached the “crazy crack head” level that some of her peers did.

“When I pictured heroin, I pictured some crazy crackhead with no shoes under a bridge. You never think that is going to be you.
“And it never was me. I was never under a bridge, and I always had shoes.”

Now, I didn't watch "Larry King Live" with Paris Hilton last night as, well, I don't really watch "Larry King." Ever. I found it surprising that she chose to have her first post-prison interview with Larry King. I figured she'd have gone for some female support via "The View" or something. At least then she'd spill on prison deets, instead of answering (or not answering) questions like "What's you favorite Bible passage?" (Paris couldn't answer that.) She did however answer the question, "Have you ever tried drugs?" with a resounding lie: "No." Photographic evidence is below. So all in all, she's back in the public eye, free to roam Hollywood red carpets, but we'll have to see if she's "changed." From the looks of her interview, the answer is "no."

Sources say that the girls have already headed to the studio to record their "vocals" for the tour. I mean, these are the effin Spice Girls do you expect them to sing live?

This teenage actress hasn't been seen with her boyfriend lately. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that he took her virginity and has been telling anyone who will listen that he's ready to find the next one now.

This B list comic film and television actor is engaged and loyal. EXCEPT that he thought he had a chance with a Playboy model and so began blowing off his soon to be betrothed. Our actor called, texted and squired around the Playboy model but with absolutely no luck. Turns out she was just using him for favors and presents. He found out when she was spotted making out and all over this A list film actor. Our actor's fiance doesn't seem to have found out, although they have not been spotted in public together since this all began.

With the writer's and actor's strike looming, this show has been filming almost constantly. The male star of this network drama has been doing so much coke and speed to keep himself alert during filming that he looks wildly different not only from each episode to the next, but even from scene to scene which is causing even more filming.

The dad from "Heroes" would like you to know he was not making out with the underage actress who plays his daughter Claire on the show.

Let me squash immediately whatever misguided notions anyone may have gotten from a picture taken a couple of days ago of Hayden and me on the set. There were two papparazzi hanging around all day across the street taking pictures of Hayden's every move. In the scene we were shooting Claire (Hayden) kisses her father (me) on the cheek. The angle at which the photo was taken created in a very misleading image. In one picture I am in short sleeves, that was a rehearsal, in the other I'm in a jacket, that was during a take.

That's it. Please go no further with this nonsense.

From In Case You Didn't Know: "Germany has barred the makers of a movie about a plot to kill Adolf Hitler from filming at German military sites because its star Tom Cruise is a Scientologist, the Defense Ministry said on Monday.

Cruise, also one of the film’s producers, is a member of the Church of Scientology which the German government does not recognize as a church. Berlin says it masquerades as a religion to make money, a charge Scientology leaders reject.

The U.S. actor has been cast as Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg, leader of the unsuccessful attempt to assassinate the Nazi dictator in July 1944 with a bomb hidden in a briefcase.

Defense Ministry spokesman Harald Kammerbauer said the film makers “will not be allowed to film at German military sites if Count Stauffenberg is played by Tom Cruise, who has publicly professed to being a member of the Scientology cult”.

“In general, the Bundeswehr (German military) has a special interest in the serious and authentic portrayal of the events of July 20, 1944 and Stauffenberg’s person,” Kammerbauer said.

Cruise’s publicists could not be reached for comment.

Stauffenberg had been deeply opposed to the Nazis’ treatment of the Jews and planted a briefcase bomb under a table near Hitler in his “Wolf’s Lair” headquarters on July 20, 1944. The bomb went off but only wounded the Fuehrer.

The film, slated for a 2008 release and to be directed by Bryan Singer and co-starring Kenneth Branagh, is called “Valkyrie” after Operation Valkyrie, the plot’s codename.

The main site of interest would be the “Bendlerblock” memorial inside the Defense Ministry complex in Berlin. This is where Stauffenberg and his co-conspirators hatched the plot and where he and his closest comrades were executed when it failed.

Kammerbauer said the ministry had not yet received official filming requests from the producers of “Valkyrie”.

From Celebitchy: "A judge has ordered Michael and Dina Lohan, the divorced parents of Lindsay and younger siblings sister Aliana, 13, and brother Dakota, 11, to attend therapy together. The judge presiding over the custody battle for Lindsay’s younger siblings says that therapy will aim to reunite Lindsay’s father Michael with his children. Michael was released from prison in March after serving less than two years out of a four year sentence for DUI and assault.

This week’s Enquirer is reporting that Michael plans to reveal that his wife used cocaine while pregnant with Lindsay if things don’t go his way in the custody battle. This is not entirely new, as these details about Dina’s alleged cocaine use were revealed during their divorce:

In court documents related to the Lohans’ divorce, Michael stated: “During our courtship, my wife abused cocaine on a regular basis. She would fly into fits of rage… and while my wife was pregnant with our oldest child, Lindsay, she would travel regularly to Flushing, Queens, in order to purchase cocaine.

The Enquirer quotes an expert as saying that if this is true, it could genetically predispose Lindsay to become an addict herself. Whether the cause of Lindsay’s addictive personality is nature or nuture or a combination of both, it’s not that much of a stretch to look to her messed up family as inspiration. I’m not saying that she shouldn’t have personal responsibility for her issues, just that you can see where they come from.

Lohan is wisely going to spend more time in Promises rehab beyond 30 days. Dina says she’s “doing great” and is going into the facility’s “extended care program.” Lindsay’s 21st birthday party in Vegas on July 2nd has been cancelled, but she will still have an alcohol-free party outside of the facility. While I wish her the best and hope she cleans up for good, the skeptic in me thinks she’s staying longer in rehab so that she can time her exit to maximum effect. If she were to get out now, her return to the paparazzi spotlight would be eclipsed by Paris’ big release from jail.

Soraya Lopez served time with Paris Hilton at Lynwood and says she's "top dog" in prison and the other inmates are glad to have her there. Soraya said that Paris is not wearing the orange jumpsuit that the others wear, but she's wearing pink polka dot prison scrubs. She's also wearing full make-up when other girls have to use coffee grounds and fruit punch to make lipstick and blush.

Soraya is glad that Paris was there with her, because she claims they were treated better. "The whole facility is benefiting from this - they are feeding us better and releasing us earlier because they don't want people around her."

Lynne Spears got this week's cover of USWeekly, and she breaks her silence about her estrangement with daughter Britney following the downward spiral the star took in February.

"You go into a time in your life with the world watching and you are just trying to figure yourself out," Lynne Spears tells Us in an exclusive interview that is featured in the latest issue of the magazine. "It's sad that the whole world had to watch her make mistakes that all of us have made at one time or another.

"The estrangement was especially hard on the pop star's mother.

"Lynne was like Britney's best friend, so when Britney started partying and her mom tried to control her, she got mad," a family source explains.

Happily, the two reconciled on June 10, speaking for the first time in months and quietly taking their first steps back to a peaceful relationship.

There are rumors that Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck "are expecting their second child, it has been claimed. The ‘Catch and Release’ actress was reportedly seen leaving a doctor’s office sporting a clearly visible baby bump. A source told New Weekly magazine, “She was very happy and glowing. She touched her stomach for a moment. She looked pregnant.” The couple - who have a 16-month-old daughter Violet - are said to be “thrilled” with the news.

All over the news is that Paris Hilton's been sprung from jail 20 days too early, after serving only 72 hours at Lynwood. TMZ.com has had hourly updates, and the most recent covers the reasons behind her early dismissal: near nervous breakdown.

"Law enforcement sources tell TMZ Paris Hilton's medical condition was purely psychological and that she was in peril of having a nervous breakdown, and that's why she was released early this morning.

Psychiatrist Charles Sophy visited Hilton in jail yesterday and the day before. We're told after Sophy's visit yesterday, word was passed to the Sheriff that Hilton's mental state was fragile and she was at risk.

The reason for releasing her had nothing to do with a rash or other physical issues. It was purely in her head.

Last month, on the eve of a trial in which Hilton was accused of slandering socialite Zeta Graph, Dr. Sophy told the judge that Hilton was "emotionally distraught and traumatized" over her jail sentence, which prevented her from participating in a meaningful defense. That trial was put on hold until August.

UPDATE: Law enforcement sources have just told TMZ the County Jail medical team made the final decision to spring Paris based on Dr. Sophy's psychological evaluation. And we're told, Sheriff Lee Baca gave the final approval."

Is this what she does in the face of consequence? Not to compare a nervous breakdown to a good sob, but come on, this is the second time she's pulled this. She needs to own up to her actions and stop relying on legal loopholes to get herself off the hook. Paris will be on house arrest for forty days, and will be wearing an ankle bracelet that tracks her movement. And she's probably online shopping for accessories for the anklet, you know, some swarovski crystals here, a big "P" there. You may think that's Calum Best that Lindsay Lohan has mounted, but really that's her bodyguard, the only person (so far) to visit her at Promises Rehab Clinic. Or whatevs. They probably call it "Relaxation Resort" instead of what it really is.

According to Star, it doesn't sound like this relaxo ranch vacay is working out quite as well as the last stint in rehab did, meaning no one has managed to sneak in pills this time and she hasn't taken any breaks to go clubbing. This go-round found Lindsay in major detox--think Leonardo DiCaprio in "Basketball Diaries." Here's the story:

The young actress was in such a dire state that staff at the rehab facility prepared for the worst.

“She looked dead,” says a source, who adds that the troubled actress appeared to be scary skinny, pale as a ghost and very quite. “She looked like a stray dog the pound had just taken in.”
Insiders reveal to Star that party girl Lindsay spent her first 4 days detoxing, from alcohol, cocaine, and prescription drugs like Percocet and Vicodin.

“She said she felt bad – really bad,” says the source. But she’s gone through rehab before and she said she’d be OK if she were left alone to lie down in a dark room. She apparently was a veteran who knew the drill and was “used to doing it her own way.”

She got the “sweats” during the detox process, but seemed really tough about it. She refused meals, says the source, but wanted water and crackers. This is Lindsay’s second stint in rehab this year, first in January at the Wonderland Center in L.A.

At $48,000 for a 30-day stay, Lindsay gets a room with an ocean view in the 16-person facility. No cell phones or BlackBerrys are allowed, but somehow, say insiders she managed to get her BlackBerry in - and shockingly she’s been asking friends to smuggle sleeping pills in as well!

“She’s in rehab because of her addiction to drugs – everything from cocaine to OxyContin and Ambien – but she’s complaining she can’t sleep,” says a close friend. “She’s been texting friends 24/7, begging them for pills!” Insiders also reveal that she’s more concerned about her upcoming 21st birthday bash in Las Vegas on July 2.

Lindsay has given up on meals, but has been loading up on coffee sweetened with about 25 packages of Splenda. A source reveals to Star, “It’s typical for someone coming off cocaine, even alcohol, to load up on sweets. I’ve heard this can happen with almost any patient. Sugar gives you a high.”

Lindsay also hired a sobriety coach at $2000 a day to be with her around the clock, and is occasionally allowed off the Promises premises to attend addiction group meetings. She won’t allow her parents, Dina and Michael, to visit her."

I'd like to touch on the Splenda topic. I currently consume 15-25 packets of Equal a day and with all that aspartame coursing through my veins, I'm not buzzed. Do I probs need to detox from sweetner? Mos def. Do I sympathize because they only serve decaf coffee in rehab? Totally. But Lindsay gave up on food long ago, so this is nothing new. I'm really curious to see where this goes, if rehab will stick this time or if she'll resort back to her old ways.

From A Socialite's Life: "Paris Hilton may be facing a serious threat at the Lynwood Correction Facility where she is currently serving her 45-day sentence for violating her probation. The women's prison is rife with staph infection, with over 402 inmates diagnosed with the serious infection last year alone!

For every 1,000 inmates that enter the facility, 13 will contract some version of this infection that is caused by the staphylococcus bacteria.

Elizabeth Bancroft, an Epidemiologist for The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, spoke with INSIDE EDITION about the seriousness of the staph strain that is spreading through out the women's prison.

"MRSA is a kind of staph infection that means it's resistant to the first line of antibiotics we usually use to treat staph infection," she continues, "That is the kind that is so prevalent right now or so common in the jail."

After the Hoff's visitation rights had been taken from him after a now infamous video of him drunk and rambling surfaced on Extra, David Hasselhoff has now being granted visitation of his two teenage daughters. In contrast to the very public manner in which the tape was leaked, and both David and his former wife, Pamela Bach, responded to the footage, the two parties currently remain fairly close-lipped about the most recent legal proceedings concerning custody issues in their divorce.

Lawyer Melvin Goldsman made the disclosure before the start of a closed-door court hearing concerning the videotape and related issues. Hasselhoff, 54, and his former wife, Pamela Bach, 43, both attended the hearing but neither provided details after it ended.

"It went very well, the truth was told, and I can't say any more," Hasselhoff said outside court.

When celebs are involved in public drunkenness scandals, there's a certain amount of gaper's block involved. Watching the Hoff eat a hamburger shirtless on the floor was like seeing a car hit a telephone pole. You wonder, whose going to call 911? Ah, someone will, keep staring! AND after this videorecorded debacle, a judge STILL allows the Hoff to see his kids. His ex-wife must be batshit crazy to lose out to a drunken, hamburger-eating, middle-aged has-been.

A spokesperson for Paula Abdul confirmed to "Extra" that over the weekend, Abdul tripped trying to avoid her Chihuahua, Tulip. As a result of the fall, the "American Idol" judge broke her nose.

I don't know what's more plausible in this situation, the scenario of the Chihuahua or that she purposely punched herself in the face to try and get that new prescription she's been eyeing at the drugstore. Disappointing casting news: Elijah Wood will be playing Iggy Pop in an upcoming biopic of the singer's life. Said Michael K of DListed: "Gay-midget Elijah Wood will play Iggy Pop in a new biopic called "The Passenger." The film will chronicle Iggy's early days with The Stooges. The film is being budgeted at around $8 million and will shoot in the next 6-months for a 2008 release. Iggy has given his blessing, but won't take part in the film.

The L.A. County sheriff's office announced that they recognize her good behavior including showing up at her recent court date. Paris will also serve her 23-days in a special unit. These cells are specifically reserved for high-profile inmates who might otherwise be targeted by fellow prisoners. She will also get an hour a day to make phone calls, watch TV and shower.

This is a vacation if you ask me. I doubt she will serve more than 2 days. She hasn't even started serving and they've already reduced it which means they will probably cut it more when she shows up to jail. I can't say I'm surprised, but I'm sure she'll even cry about this and when she gets out after 2 hours of serving she'll do the talk show circuits and talk about how hard it was."

So true. She'll def be on "the View", "Regis and Kelly", and mabes "Ellen" if she's lucky. I don't really see them having an interesting conversation though. Oh well, if all else fails, she can just let her boob pop out like Cameron Diaz did on "Ellen." That'll give them something to talk about, besides how hard jail was.
